Care Closet Creation
Stocking and creating the School Care Closets
Oak Grove Elementary | Saturday | April 18 | 10 AM -12 PM
Lexington Elementary School | Saturday | April 18 | 1 PM – 3 PM

Join us as we come together to support students at two local elementary schools by stocking their Care Closets with essential everyday items. Many children come to school without basic hygiene supplies, clothing essentials and school supplies. The absence of these essentials can impact their confidence, health and ability to focus in the classroom.

Beginning Sunday, April 5, we will collect items for Oak Grove and Lexington Elementary Care Closets. Sunday drop-off is at the Missions Center in the West Building before or after the weekend services. Weekday drop-off is at the Missions Ministry Office (the brick house directly behind the back parking lot).

Through this outreach, we will collect and organize items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, soap, t-shirts, socks, water bottles and other personal care essentials. These items will be made available to school staff so they can discreetly provide for students in need throughout the year.

This is a meaningful opportunity to make a tangible difference in a child’s life. Something as small as a toothbrush or water bottle can help a student feel cared for, prepared and confident.

This event is taking the items donated through GO Week Care Closet Collections and creating a care closet at the school with the school social worker. You will help sort and organize supplies at the school, essentially creating and preparing the Care Closet for easy access and ongoing use.

Meghan Sanders is the Care Closet Creation Captain. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email with more information. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Meghan with any questions.
